Our beautiful Australian bushland is burning and families are losing lives and property as bushfires rage throughout their communities .

Over 480 million animals are believed to have been killed, including thousands of koalas and other indigenous animals.

The fires have been burning in the State of New South Wales since September 2019 with over 4 million hectares ( 990000 acres) being burnt so far. These fires could well be burning for another 5 months.

Koala populations in New South Wales and Queensland have dropped by almost half , to around 80000 , in the last 2 decades due to many factors including deforestation, drought, disease, starvation and traffic injuries.

These fires that are currently burning in Australia are threatening the lives of these precious animals and every other animal that lives on the land.

During the month of December Sweet Pea had a fund raising promotion where we donated $2 from each sale of our Australian themed Machine embroidery designs to the Koala Crisis and Red Cross Disaster Relief appeals.

Our new fund raising design- all sales of which will go to help our injured Aussie animals

Our design charity design the "Koala Add on or mug rug ' - ALL SALES from the purchase of this 'Koala Add-on 'design will go to help our injured and orphaned Australian wildlife.
The Australian Animals Table runner design is available separately on our website and does not include the Koala block.

Starting from this month we are committed to raising more donations to give to charitable organisations that will help people and animals directly affected by these devastating fires.

We have designed an Australian themed machine embroidery 'in the hoop' design to honour our beautiful Koalas.

ALL SALES from our 'Koala Add-on block or mug rug' design on our website will be given to WIRES Wildlife Rescue ( WILDLIFE INFORMATION AND RESCUE SERVICE ).

This cute design can be made as a mug rug or an 'add on' block to the Australian Animal Table runner design we made especially to celebrate Australia Day on January 26th.
